WHY SPIRIT & TRUTH?

ABOUT US

OUR MISSION

​

  • First and foremost, we, as a Grants Pass church, have dedicated our lives to ministering to the Father "in spirit and truth" (see John 4:23-24). We are addicted to God's presence (see Exodus 33:16; John 15:5). Above all else, as Jesus said, our aim is to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength" (Mark 12:30).

  • Second, we are committed to living God's second greatest commandment: "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Mark 12:31). In other words, we, like Jesus, are anointed to do the works of Jesus by the power of His Spirit and in the authority of His name. "God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him" (Acts 10:38). "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10). We are attuned to the voice of our Shepherd (see John 10:27) as He directs us how to express His love to each individual. We have the privilege and responsibility to help bring people to obedience to God "by word and deed, by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God" in order to fulfill "the ministry of the gospel of Christ" (see Romans 15:18b-19). In contrast to the Pharisees, who "preach, but do not practice" (see Matthew 23:3), our "speech and [our] message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God" (1 Corinthians 2:4-5). As Jesus prophesied about everyone who truly believes in Him, we not only declare the Gospel of Jesus, we also demonstrate Jesus who is the Gospel by casting out demons, miraculously healing the sick, raising the dead, and fostering continued spiritual maturity among Christian believers (see John 14:12; Mark 16:17-18; Ephesians 4:11-16). In short, we are spending our lives to further God's Kingdom mission on earth as it is in Heaven (see Luke 4:18-19; Matthew 6:9-15; Acts 1:1; John 20:21; 1 John 4:17).​

WE ARE...

  • A loving spiritual church family. We are about loyalty to Christ and parenting you to love and depend on the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

​​

  • A people who are passionately in love with the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. And, as God has loved us unconditionally, we will also love you (even if you disagree with us).​​

​​

  • Starting with getting individuals into the Kingdom of God, then helping them do the works of Jesus by the power of the Spirit. We are about growing God's Kingdom.

  • Fathering/mothering people. We are a supportive family of spiritual warriors nurturing you to mature into the unique expression of Jesus that God created you to be. We will push you to maturity by telling you what you need to hear. We motivate people to become the ministers God has called them to be. We will catalyze you then release you into the world to free spiritual captives as they exchange what they want for what Jesus wants Sunday-Saturday.

  • Encouraging people to stand up, speak up, partner together, and hang around to form deep and lasting friendships.

  • Servants of God who fear Him only and follow His lead. ​​​​​

WE ARE NOT...

  • A money-motivated, numbers-driven business​. We do not promote "church brand" loyalty nor will we condition you to depend on church leaders.

​​

  • A people who merely like to learn about God the Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit with our minds only. And, we won't love you only as long as you agree with our theology.​​ 

​​​

  • Stopping with getting individuals born again into the Kingdom only to sit in the chair (or pew) of dead religion. We are not about growing any religious institution.

​

  • Babying people. We're not a nursery that facilitates people staying in spiritual diapers forever. Nor will we neutralize you by pressuring you to fit a religious mold. ​​We won't placate you by just telling you what you want to hear. Neither will we ​marginalize you by excluding you from spiritual ministry. We don't catch people then hook them in as our religious captives through the allure of cleverly choreographed Sunday stage productions.​​

  • Conditioning people to sit down, shut up, pay up, then get out after viewing an entertaining performance/production.​​​​​​

​

  • Slaves of the fear of man and people's opinions. ​​​​​
